## Do we need Relex if we already use Microsoft 365?

Evaluate Relex when you want a legal matter’s working context available across compatible assistants, beyond a document library or one assistant session. Keep Word, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint where they serve your practice. Relex is a legal workspace, not a replacement for the entire Microsoft 365 suite.

## SharePoint agents already use our documents. What is the distinction?

Microsoft supports agents grounded in selected SharePoint sources, subject to permissions and licensing. Relex’s emphasis is a structured legal record with saved conclusions and client-side identity protection, accessible through its own authorized MCP connection. Compare the actual workflow—not “has AI” versus “no AI”. Neither this page nor MCP compatibility establishes a native Relex–Copilot or SharePoint integration.

## What should a legal department test?

Ask a connected assistant for a matter summary, its linked sources and open issues. Save reviewed conclusions, then have a second compatible assistant continue from that same authorized Relex matter. Check how identity placeholders, source access and permission revocation behave. Compare billed usage and quality against your existing setup; a shorter prompt is useful only if it still supports reliable work.

## What about client intake, agreements and outside counsel?

Relex brings protected intake, matter knowledge, agreements and signing into the same legal workflow, with organization invoicing and eligible payment collection. The Marketplace supports finding published professionals and a user-approved invitation. Build a tailored legal portal with the SDK/API where needed. Retention, e-discovery, ethical walls and jurisdiction-specific requirements still need your own evaluation; feature presence is not a compliance certification.
